AMVN Volunteers Teach Conversational English Classes at All Levels
AMVN volunteers from England, the USA, and Israel are busy teaching English to children and young adults in Armenia during the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are currently seven weekly English classes taught by six different AMVN volunteers. The classes cover beginner level classes for pre-teen school children to upper intermediate level conversational classes for college-aged students.
AMVN Volunteer Jackie Krikorian from the US says ”I love teaching all of our students! Thank you for such an opportunity”. Jackie is half Armenian and wants to know more about her Armenian heritage. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with her students and always encourages them.
Sophia Terian is also half Armenian. She has been volunteering for AMVN since the beginning of June. She is from Kansas in the USA. Sophia is a creative teacher and her classes are always interesting. After her first class Sophia said, “ It was soooo much fun”. She has already made friends with her students and wishes to visit Armenia and teach there in person someday.
Thomasina Roberts is from London, England. Her friend Sophia Terian inspired her to become an AMVN volunteer. Thomasina is an intelligent and kind teacher with a good sense of humor. She knows how to make the lessons fun and productive.She says, “I am enjoying the classes very much”.
Mary Asryan is from Dallas,Texas. She was born and raised in a traditional Armenian family in America. She speaks fluent Armenian and knows a lot about Armenian culture, food and lifestyle. She is a punctual, active, and enthusiastic teacher. Besides volunteering to teach English classes, she also helps make videos for AMVN. Mary hopes to study medicine and continue her education in Armenia. She is so excited to have the opportunity to make a small contribution to Armenia by teaching English to Armenian students.
AMVN volunteers continue teaching English classes at all levels. AMVN staff greatly appreciate their help and support. Their knowledge is the candle which fills the lives of the students in Armenia with light.
