AMVN Helps Primary School #179 in Yerevan

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the AMVN team looked for new ways to support education for young children in Armenia. Liana Grigorian, AMVN Volunteer Coordinator for German Speaking Countries, brought to our attention Yerevan primary school #179. School #179 is located in one of the suburbs of Yerevan. The school has a limited budget and many of the students are from low-income families.

With the help of the AMVN team and amazing volunteers from Israel and the USA (Ranin Khouri, Sophia Terian, and Linnea Ellias), the young students are now learning English via 40-minute Zoom lessons every week. It is a big event for both volunteers and students, and the school principal and parents have expressed their gratitude to AMVN.

The principal of the school, Gayane Yeremyan, says ”The weakest point in our school #179 is foreign-language teaching. Thank you for the great opportunity you are providing.”

AVMN is grateful for the opportunity to enrich the lives of young children with knowledge, love, and encouragement.
