COVID-19 Update

AMVN was founded during the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic. With the entire world facing the challenges of the pandemic, we saw a need for new ideas in education and new opportunities for young people to make a difference in the global community.

Our students and volunteers are from different countries and continents, but they are all impacted by the pandemic. We’ve found that our online zoom lessons and forums have had a positive impact both educationally and psychologically. While learning and sharing together, the students, volunteers, and educators realize that they are not alone; that we are all working together towards a brighter future.

We hope that soon our volunteers will be able to travel freely to Armenia and have the opportunity to teach there in person while discovering the amazing country and culture. In the meantime, AMVN is using all the marvels of modern technology to host online classes and forums.

Like much of the world, Armenia continues to struggle to bring the pandemic under control. The first case in Armenia was reported on March 1. The country went on a strict lockdown but has since reopened.  AMVN will continue our efforts to improve educational opportunities using all means currently available while we wait and hope for the pandemic to pass.
